Depends what ur eating. Red wine will go better with steak or red meat...or any red tomato sauce. White wine (champagne is just sparkling white wine) goes better with fish, pork, chicken and white cream sauces. Beware! Pink champagne is very sweet and is not meant to have with dinner...dessert only. One more note: you can usually get a decent red wine for cheaper than a decent champagne (no Korbel please!)

Champagne it has a more romantic qualaty. Wine would be for a dinner. With the Champagne don't forget the strawberries

They both taste awful in my opinion, if your special someone agrees, try sparkling grape juice instead
