if you aren't already going out with them, you don't need to get them anything for v-day, because that would be a little weird. (think about it: you're already asking them out. Anything else is too much!)

Don't try to skirt around it by saying things like, "I was wondering if you're free this weekend..." Just come right out and say it. If the answer is no, it's no, but the rejection is less humiliating if you're self confident going into it. (and just as a side note: most people say yes.) Make eye contact and smile. Make sure she knows you are secure. You don't want to seem desparate!
